It is these contracts that make the questline so enjoyable. From here, the player receives contracts from other members of the brotherhood's sanctuary, who can be eerily friendly considering their profession. He tasks the player with eliminating a hermit named Rufio, and if they do, they are granted membership. This killing will be observed, and the player will be visited during the night by Lucien Lachance, speaker for the group. The Dark Brotherhood can be joined in Oblivion by killing an innocent person.
